From the director of A MOST VIOLENT YEAR comes TRIPLE FRONTIER, an exciting new thriller that looks just as taut and thought provoking as the film that put J.C. Chandor on the map. From just watching the trailer, it looks like Chandor’s latest seems to beg the question of what makes a man a good man, and how far a person should be morally obligated to go in order to attain what he or she has rightfully earned. These are themes that seem pretty common in all of Chandor’s work, so it will be interesting to see how these ideas play out in the filmmaker’s latest endeavor given the military tie-in. Check out the first look at the movie for yourself in the video above.
Here’s the official synopsis:
“A group of former Special Forces operatives (BEN AFFLECK, OSCAR ISAAC, CHARLIE HUNNAM, GARRETT HEDLUND and PEDRO PASCAL) reunite to plan a heist in a sparsely populated multi-border zone of South America. For the first time in their prestigious careers these unsung heroes undertake this dangerous mission for self instead of country. But when events take an unexpected turn and threaten to spiral out of control, their skills, their loyalties and their morals are pushed to a breaking point in an epic battle for survival. Directed by Academy Award® nominee J.C. CHANDOR (Margin Call, All Is Lost, A Most Violent Year) and co-written by Chandor and Academy Award® winner MARK BOAL (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty).”
I am completely on board for this dark twist on the typical heist movie, but what do y’all think? Are you looking forward to this one? Make sure to leave a comment and let us know your thoughts.
TRIPLE FRONTIER premieres globablly on Netflix in March 2019.
