First teaser for Downton Abbey movie invites you to a world of elegance

DOWNTON ABBEY brought elegance, sophistication and binge-worthy drama to television, and now those same qualities will be brought to the big screen in the film version of the hit show. The movie was announced a few months ago, production was kicked into high gear, and now we already have the first teaser for the movie due next September. We may not get a look at series regulars like Hugh Bonneville or Joanne Froggatt, but it’s still a very English piece of footage, with horses, fine music and lots of exterior shots of the famous home. Watch it with a cup of tea, yes?

Like I said, not much to see, but don’t you just feel classier after watching it? Series creator Julian Fellowes is writing the script for the movie, with Michael Engler directing. The cast, like the show, is quite impressive, featuring Bonneville, Froggatt Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Michelle Dockery, Kevin Doyle, Matthew Goode, Harry Hadden-Paton, David Haig, Geraldine James, Robert James-Collier, Simon Jones, Allen Leech, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Tuppence Middleton, Stephen Campbell Moore, Lesley Nicol, Kate Phillips, Maggie Smith, Imelda Staunton and Penelope Wilton.

DOWNTON ABBEY is set to hit theaters September 20, 2019.
