Did Star Wars 9 Really Steal Its Title from an Old Pinball Game?

The official Star Wars 9 title has yet to be officially revealed and hardcore fans are trying to uncover the mystery. Now, a Star Wars fan with either some really good photoshop skills or some real knowledge of code digging has stumbled on to an interesting title, which comes from an unlikely place. According to this “leak,” the Star Wars 9 title is Balance of the Force, which at first glance seems to make sense.

When looking at Balance of the Force as the Star Wars 9 title, most fans will automatically think of the old Star Wars digital pinball game of the same name released before the new trilogy. With rumors and supposed leaks making the rounds, there is plenty of room for trolling and fake news, which is more than likely where this title comes from. It’s highly doubtful that J.J. Abrams is going to name the last movie in the Skywalker Saga after a pinball game. It’s not even a real pinball machine.

Star Wars 9: Yoda’s Bar Mitzvah seems like a more realistic name at this point. The Balance of the Force imagery from the leak reveals purple lettering, which looks pretty good, but the title sticks out way too much. When looking at the description of the pinball digital game, one can see that it revolves around the original trilogy and allows players to play as the Empire or the Rebels. There’s no new storyline or anything special about the game, except for the fact that it has some pretty good reviews.

Sadly, Balance of the Force is fake news. However, if it’s not, J.J. Abrams could find himself in hotter water than Rian Johnson for The Last Jedi. Many hardcore Star Wars fans are hoping that Abrams will take the Skywalker saga and end it in a satisfying way, but as with anything having to do with the franchise, there is a lot of negativity surrounding it. Disney and Lucasfilm have come under fire for trying to do too much with Star Wars, while watering down the material in the process. As with anything, there are two sides to the story, and there are a lot of people who have loved the new trilogy.

Let’s just say, on the off chance this title is real. The purple lettering sure does remind us of one long dead Jedi. We’ve heard rumors of The Beyond, perhaps where Jedi Ghosts go to live when they’re not bothering people in the real world. Is it at all fathomable that Mace Windu is a Force Ghost, and that Samuel L. Jackson will return? The purple hues here tease that, but we haven’t heard anything. But if Luke, Yoda, Obi-Wan and Anakin can all materalize, why not Mace?

The wait for the official Star Wars 9 title continues, which means that we’re going to see a lot more rumors coming down the wire. Just make sure to stay clear of Mark Hamill, who is having a lot of fun trolling fans over story details and the title reveal. With that being said, it looks like production is starting to wrap up, with most of the droids finished with their parts, which means that a title reveal can’t be too far off. We’re just a little under a year away from Star Wars 9 hitting theaters, so expect some footage in the near future too. Reddit provided us with the Balance of the Force title news.
