Rosario Dawson & Joey Lauren Adams to return for Jay and Silent Bob Reboot

Rosario Dawson, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Clerks II

Before anyone could finish smoking a celebratory blunt following the news that Kevin Smith has wrapped production on the JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT, the fan favorite filmmaker took to his personal Instagram account to announce that both Rosario Dawson (RENT, THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE) and Joey Lauren Adams (DAZED AND CONFUSED, BIG DADDY) will be returning for the follow-up to Smith’s 2001 comedy JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK.

Upon making their return to the View Askewniverse, Dawson will reprise her role as the Jackson 5-loving Becky from CLERKS II, while Adams will once again step into her role as indie comic icon Alyssa Jones from Smith’s 1997 rom-com CHASING AMY.

You can check out Smith’s posts that proudly (and sweetly) announce the return of both View Askeniverse alumnas below:

Returning to Smith’s cinematic fray for more snoochies, boochies, and booooonnngs are Smith himself, as well as Jason Mewes as Jay and Silent Bob, respectively. Joining them for the highly-anticipated comedy are stars Shannon Elizabeth (AMERICAN PIE), Joe Manganiello (TRUE BLOOD), Harley Quinn Smith (YOGA HOSERS), Grant Gustin (The CW’s THE FLASH, GLEE), Justin Long (JEEPERS CREEPERS, TUSK), Jason Lee (MY NAME IS EARL, MALLRATS), Craig Robinson (BROOKLYN NINE-NINE), Molly Shannon (SUPERSTAR, NEVER BEEN KISSED) and Brian O’Halloran (CLERKS, MALLRATS), among others.

I’m not going to lie, this news has me dancing in my office, right now. Dawson is my all-time fav, and the thought of her returning for the JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT already has me navigating Spotify for some Jackson 5 goodness. Joey Lauren Adams is a welcomed return, too, as her knack for comedy and raspy vocals are always a treat. This film continues to deliver surprises, even after it’s done filming, and we love it!
