Even at the age of 72 Sylvester Stallone still isn’t done getting his hands dirty and bloody for our entertainment, and this September he will throw himself into all sorts of action way too crazy for his age in RAMBO V: LAST BLOOD. Stallone posted a behind-the-scenes video of himself on set as the returning John Rambo, looking right at home firing big guns, shooting arrows and whittling something cool in front of a big fire.
“A handmade film like the 1st one … BLOOD SWEAT TEARS And working with fantastic actors! Sept 20,” Stallone wrote in the caption on the Instagram post. The video is a bit rough around the edges and rather short and comes on the heels of many stills Stallone has shared since production started months ago, and will likely be the closest thing we get to real footage until the trailer drops, whenever that may be.
Going from the jungle locale of the last movie to the hot plains of Mexico, LAST BLOOD will find Rambo saddling up and heading to Mexico to crack the skulls of some cartel folks as he tries to protect the daughter of an old friend. The Rambo franchise has delivered a ton of chaotic, bloody action throughout the decades, but this one seems to be a tad more nuanced and in the style of 2017’s LOGAN, with the title alone hinting the same fate for the classic character.
Directed by GET THE GRINGO’s Adrian Grunberg and written by Stallone and Matthew Cirulnick (PAID IN FULL), RAMBO V also stars Paz Vega, Louis Mandylor, Óscar Jaenada, Joaquín Cosio, Yvette Monreal, Sheila Shah, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Jessica Madsen and Adriana Barraza,
RAMBO V: LAST BLOOD is in theaters September 20.
