Watch as Tom Holland Escapes Catching Fire During Magazine Shoot

Tom Holland nearly went up in flames during a magazine photoshoot. The Spider-Man: Far From Home star is out promoting the sequel, which hits theaters in just a few weeks. Holland has been keeping his mouth shut and not spoiling anything about the movie and Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are probably more than a little bummed since he is usually good for a few decent spoilers before one of his projects hits theaters. Maybe watching him almost catch fire is a nice consolation prize for those fans.

Man About Town magazine did a cover story on Tom Holland and they brought him down to the beach for a photoshoot. Seems harmless enough, but the photographers reportedly wanted to showcase a new edgy side of the 23-year old actor so they had him pose on a chair while it was on fire. Holland is sitting on the edge of the beach with his toes in the sand while the wind whips the flames up a bit higher and finally his pants catch fire for a brief second as he jumps up and runs off. It seems weird to use fire and wind together, but they apparently knew what they were doing.

Thankfully, the pictures came out okay and Tom Holland looks pretty fierce sitting in the hot seat. He’s lucky he didn’t turn into the Human Torch or end up like Michael Jackson during his infamous 1980s Pepsi commercial incident where his hair caught fire. Holland is looking forward to a massive box office debut for Spider-Man: Far From Home and some burns would not be a good way to celebrate the movie and its success.

Spider-Man: Far from Home finds Peter Parker on summer European vacation with his friends. However, he isn’t going to be able to relax very much since Nick Fury was able to track him down to help fight the Elementals alongside Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio. At this time, Gyllenhaal’s character is being marketed as an ally of Parker’s, which is a lot different from the comics version of their relationship, leaving many to believe there will be some kind of betrayal or a Mysterio from another universe emerging at some point. For now, the details are all under wraps.

Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters in North America on July 2nd and it’s looking like it should be able to decimate the holiday week box office. Even conservative estimates have the sequel taking in at least $154 million, so things are looking up for Tom Holland and Spider-Man. The excitement is a lot higher for the movie, thanks to the success of Avengers: Endgame. MCU fans are dying to know what the world looks like post-Endgame and what it means for the upcoming Phase 4.
