More Downton Abbey Character Posters Have the Crawley Family Ready to Party

The Downton Abbey movie is on the way and we have nine brand-new character posters teasing the return of the Crawleys. It’s been four years since the beloved show ended and fans have been waiting for the movie for at least that long. And while it’s been four years, it doesn’t look like much has changed for the Crawley family and the Downton staff, as evidenced by the nine character posters released today. There are a lot of familiar faces returning for the big screen adaptation, which has fans hoping there will be more after the movie hits theaters.

Robert, Earl of Grantham and Lady Cora, Mr. Bates and Anna, The Dowager Countess and Lady Mary, Henry and Tom, Carson and Elsie, Mr. Molesley and Baxter, Lady Edith and Bertie, Mrs. Patmore and Daisy, along with Thomas and Andy are all featured in the Downton Abbey character posters. While it doesn’t look like much has changed for the characters, there will be some pretty big changes happening in their lives when the movie hits theaters this fall. If fans weren’t excited before, they certainly are now.

The television series Downton Abbey followed the lives of the Crawley family and the servants who worked for them at the turn of the 20th century in an Edwardian English country house. Over its 6 seasons, the series garnered 3 Golden Globe Awards, 15 Primetime Emmy Awards, 69 Emmy nominations in total, making Downton Abbey the most nominated non-US television show in the history of the Emmys – even earning a Special BAFTA award and a Guinness World Record for the highest critically rated TV show along the way.
